MASTERCLAD™
Medium Voltage Metal-Clad Switch gear with Type VR Vacuum
Circuit Breakers
The quality of Square D MASTERCLADTM medium voltage metal-clad
switch gear stems from a design and manufacturing process that
focuses on long-term switch gear performance with the highest degree
of reliability.
Reliable performance and safety is enhanced by the rugged
construction of MASTERCLAD switch gear. Each switch gear assembly
consists of individually grounded, compartmentalized steel
structures (with -gauge barriers between vertical sections and major
parts of each primary circuit) to protect operating personnel.
Based on specific customer application needs, Square D engineers
and technicians select the appropriate standard sections and bus
configurations, with the ability to
customize where needed. After the specified circuit breakers,
instrument and control power transformers, relays, meters and other
components are selected and approved, all are factory-assembled,
wired and tested as a complete assembly. This testing is performed
to insure reliability by energizing the control circuits and
verifying the specified sequence of operation for each metal-clad
switch gear project along with the ANSI C37.20.2 Production Tests.

Power-Zone® 4
Switchgear and QED-6 Switchboards
Power-Zone® 4 low voltage switchgear and QED-6 rear connected
switchboards are now available with an outdoor option that meets the
outdoor, rain resistant requirements of ANSI C37.20.1 (for
Power-Zone 4) and UL 891 (for QED-6).
The Type 3R enclosure option is produced as part of the
Power-Zone 4 switchgear or QED-6 switchboard and shipped from the
equipment assembly plant complete. Base, roof, sides and aisle
sections are assembled as part of the Power-Zone 4 switchgear/QED-6
switchboards equipment. Field assembly, if required, consists of
connecting shipping splits of the interior equipment, bus, control
wiring, and the exterior enclosure front, rear and roof seams.

the master control, a back-up engine start operation is hardwired
into the system. Also the programmable logic controller (PLC) which
runs automatic operations is backed up with a true hardwired manual
control.
