BALTIMORE, Maryland, and PORTSMOUTH, Virginia – July 2, 2020 – Curtis Engine & Equipment Co., Inc. and Western Branch Diesel today announced that they have closed on a transaction merging Curtis Engine & Equipment Co., Inc. (Curtis Engine) with Western Branch Diesel LLC’s Power Generation Division. The new company will go to market as Curtis Power Solutions, LLC.
The merger combines, into a single business unit, the capabilities and strengths that both organizations have developed during their 150 years of experience as engine distributors and service providers.
“Over the last 75 years, we have developed a solid reputation as a one-stop provider of power generation equipment and services, with considerable expertise delivering complex power projects including mission critical backup power applications and natural gas combined heat and power (CHP) systems,” said Trip Harrison, CEO of Curtis Engine. “Merging with Western Branch Diesel’s Power Generation Division allows us to expand our respective networks and bring that experience to more markets.”
Added Harrison, “Curtis Engine is unique in the region because we focus solely on commercial generation for commercial, institutional and government customers. This merger will open up more opportunities for our knowledgeable technical and professional staff to work closely with electrical contractors, electrical engineers, facilities managers and commercial and government owners to meet their power generation needs.”
“Leveraging the Indel Power Group network will position Curtis Power Solutions as a market leader in the power generation industry,” said David Johnson, CEO of Indel Power Group. “We believe that the complementary nature of each company’s strengths, combined with the specific expertise and resources across both companies, will result in the optimization of sales and service activities throughout the entire territory.”
