On Monday, December 5th, our Dovell & Williams team in Glen Burnie, MD hosted 19 students from Center for Applied Technology (CAT) North’s diesel and automotive technology programs for a Lunch & Learn event. The Lunch & Learn consisted of a presentation on Indel Power Group companies and our Technician Apprentice Program, a tour of the Glen Burnie facility, and a Q&A style lunch with company representatives.
At the event, company representatives explained the possible career path options available to young people through Indel Power Group companies. Students already enrolled in a diesel or automotive technology program can apply for work study programs through Dovell & Williams once they reach legal working age in the state. The work study program allows students to gain hands-on experience working in a shop and serves as a foot-in-the-door for them to potentially be hired full-time after graduation.
Recent graduates can also apply through the Technician Apprentice Program without prior experience to learn about diesel technology on the job while getting paid to learn. Attendees of the Lunch & Learn heard firsthand from program graduate Cameron Tyeryar about the benefits of the Technician Apprentice Program and working at Dovell and Williams.
We want to say a big thank you to the CAT North class, instructors, and volunteers that made this event a success. Our recruitment team is actively planning more events for the 2023 calendar year.
